The Serious Eats Chicago Launch Party
Most of the party planning time was spent discussing the amazing restaurants we'd love to have cater the event. In the end, we couldn't decide on one and instead went with four: Hoosier Mama Pie Company, Honey 1 BBQ, Hot Chocolate, and Great Lake.
Ed Levine and Nick Kindelsperger
Serious Eats founder Ed Levine flew in for the event. Here he is showing off the recently released Serious Eats Book to Chicago editor Nick Kindelsperger.
Hoosier Mama's Hand Pies
Paula Haney brought along a selection of sweet and savory pies, including these stunning sausage ones.
Throughout the night, a steady shipment of pizzas from Great Lake kept coming in the door. In the end, we devoured over ten.
Honey 1 BBQ
The Bucktown barbecue joint delivered a whole pan of rib tips and hot links. Don't worry, their amazing sauce was served on the side.
Of course, Hot Chocolate brought its own thick and luxurious hot chocolate, but they also brought along these cute little shortbread cookies.
The party was held at Room Service—a funky home furnishings boutique in Andersonville.
