  • Though it's not "quite" Chicago-style deep dish pizza, Burt's Place "has character and it's a cozy little place to eat with a small group of friends." Plus the pizza is "great." [Food is Happiness]
  • After a mini tour of Thai restaurants serving Naem Khao Tod, the highlight was found at Spoon Thai: "The Spoon Thai version of Naem Khao Tod was all about the fantastic rice croquettes...That's a fine thing, because these were some spectacularly crispy, tasty bits of deep fried rice." [Fuckerberg On Food]
  • Though you're "gonna pay for the fish n' chips" at Owen & Engine—they cost $17 for a "not very large of a portion"—"they're so goddamn good it doesn't matter." The fresh haddock "is firm and translucent," and the "breading is thin, not overly crunchy, flavorful but still lets the fish shine." [Chicago Gluttons]
