Mike and Patrick Sheerin, the chefs (and brothers) who will be running the kitchen at The Trenchermen in Bucktown, offered up the second in a series of teasers that are gradually pulling back the curtain on their highly anticipated collaboration project.

Held at Architectural Artifacts, a cavernous Ravenswood antiques store from which some of the restaurant's furnishings have been sourced, the preview event saw the Sheerin brothers preparing a trio of light bites that they said are slated for The Trenchermen's debut menu. Meanwhile, Tona Palomino, The Trenchermen's head bartender, likewise showed off a set of three of cocktails that, while not necessarily destined for the final drink menu, captured the spirit and creativity of what Palomino plans to bring to the endeavor. Mike and Patrick Sheerin (who are formerly of Blackbird and the Signature Room, respectively) have partnered with Matt Eisler and Kevin Heisner, co-owners in Bangers & Lace, for the project. It will be located in the massive West North Avenue space vacated by Spring. At the media preview event, Heisner indicated that the space has been almost entirely transformed: there's now a 60-seat bar to complement an 80-seat dining area, and the custom decor would reflect a variety of influences, including steampunk. Renovations are still under way, and the owners are anticipating an opening in the February-March 2012 timeframe.
