Though admittedly better known for its tacos than anything else, the rest of the menu at Las Asadas hardly rests on its laurels. You really can't go wrong ordering anything made with the Bucktown taqueria's namesake carne asada. And the carne asada torta ($6.25) fits the bill if you're in the mood for something substantial.

Fresh-from-the-griddle asada is chopped to order before being piled onto a toasted bolillo roll. The torta is bulked up with refried beans, shredded white cheese, cilantro, onion, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. The nuggets of steak are the highlight—medium rare and well crisped pieces play very nicely together—and this beast of a sandwich was somehow gone before I knew it.
