I'll just get right to it, because this is potentially very interesting: Bill Kim, the restauranteur behind Urban Belly and Belly Shack, is teaming up with Cornerstone Restaurant Group and Michael Jordan for BellyQ. It'll be located on West Randolph in the space formerly occupied by one sixtyblue—an upscale restaurant which closed just a few weeks. A spring opening is promised.
Details are limited at this point, but along with showing a picture of man holding a 2-prong fork in a smoky room, the website claims that you can "expect a flavor palette that's boldly smoky and brightly piquant." The vague description leaves just about everything to the imagination (Asian barbecue, perhaps?), but thanks to Kim's involvement, this is already one of the most exciting openings to look forward to in 2012.
