When Jam announced that they were picking up and moving from their Ukrainian Village location to Logan Square, I wasn't exactly sure what this move would mean for their contemporary cuisine. Would they change their menu entirely or keep it as-is? While there are a few slight changes to the menu, it mostly echoes the same dishes that the previous location did. The egg sandwich ($13) was piled with pork shoulder, ricotta salata cheese, and plum preserve, all sandwiched between two slices of crusty French bollo bread and served with perfectly seasoned fingerling potatoes on the side.

The tender pork and creamy cheese tasted great with the egg, but I wish there was more of the tart plum preserve to break up all the savory components. The bread was also was a little hard, on my last visit. When I attempted to cut the sandwich in half, I actually knocked several potatoes off my plate. Whoops? Luckily, the server gave me another serving of potatoes. Just a couple kinks, but there is no doubt that Jam's success will continue to flourish as they settle in to their new digs in Logan Square.
