The Brunch Dish: Paris Eggs Benedict at Prasino

With an emphasis on organic food and an environmentally-conscious setting, I thought I would walk into Prasino and do the appropriate thing—order something marginally healthy. Spying the Paris Eggs Benedict ($12) on the menu was all it took for me to change my mind. No brunch column is complete without an eggs benedict post anyway, right?

Living up to its name, the dish comes with grilled ham, brie, poached eggs, and chives, all assembled on top of a pretzel croissant and drizzled with truffle hollandaise sauce. Healthy? Not in the slightest, but Prasino knows gluttony just as well as it knows steel-cut oatmeal. Although each of the components in the dish complimented one another perfectly, the salt factor was a little bit overwhelming at times. Thankfully, the roasted potatoes on the side provided enough of a starch to downplay the salt. Perhaps next time I venture back to Prasino, I will see what the healthy side of brunch has to offer, but it'll be hard to avoid taking this route again.
