It's no real surprise that Mayor Rahm Emanuel tops Chicago Magazine's list of the 100 Most Powerful Chicagoans, but I was surprised to see that so many people in the food world made the cut. Sure, Jim Skinner (CEO of McDonald's) and Irene Rosenfeld (Chairman and CEO of Kraft) are recognized, along with Groupon co-founders Eric Lefkofsky and Andrew Mason. But actual chefs and restauranteurs are also here, including Grant Achatz (#9), Rick Bayless (#34), Paul Kahan (#42), Brendan Sodikoff (#75), Scott Harris (#89), and Tony Hu (#96). That list pick shouldn't be too surprising considering I spent the better part of January eating at every single one of his Chinatown restaurants. Still, congrats to all.

Here's where I'd usually ask you who should have made the cut, but any additions would likely kick off #100 pick, Marc Weissbluth, the founder of the Sleep Medicine Center at Children's Memorial Hospital. That just seems wrong, so I'll just leave it at that.
