Gapers Block, a hometown Chicago blog, set up their first annual BBQ Bowl at Club Lucky in Bucktown.
Mmm...ribs. Lots and lots of ribs. The Piggery, located in Lakeview, were one of seven competitors to duke it out.
Honkey Tonk BBQ Ribs
The Pilsen barbecue joint represented with a wonderfully smoky rib coated in the restaurant's signature sauce.
Honey 1 BBQ
Honey 1 BBQ, a favorite of Serious Eats, dished out some of their rib tips.
Club Lucky, the host restaurant, put out a respectable rib too. They specialize in Italian food, but hey, barbecue knows no boundaries.
Rub BBQ Company
Rub BBQ Company (not to be confused with Serious Eat's favorite Rub BBQ in NYC) came drizzled with a unique citrus-chipotle barbecue sauce.
Mrs. Murphy and Sons Irish Bistro
Who knew that an Irish bistro could put out such delicious ribs? The North Center restaurant won Peoples' Choice award.
Declaring the Winners
Andrew Huff, the founder and editor of Gapers Block, announced the winners of the competition.
People's Pick Winner
This proud duo from Mrs. Murphy's and Sons Irish Bistro walked away with the People's Pick award.
