Bang Bang Pie Shop only offers three pies at any one time, though the menu changes every few weeks based on what is seasonally available. Each can be had for $5 a slice or $26 for the whole pie.
Peanut Butter Cream ($5)
A tall mound of fresh whipped cream tops this filling of custard and whipped peanut butter. Served along side is a special pie fork, which both looks cool and is apparently the proper English way to eat pie. Good to know.
Inside the Bang Bang Pie Shop
The airy and open v-shaped shop is located at 2051 N. California Avenue in Logan Square.
Shaker Blood Orange ($5)
This tart and fruity pie is made with very thin slices of blood oranges. It's balanced by a drizzle of a rich and sweet balsamic reduction.
Out of the Oven
All the pies are cooked in a small oven. Here, Michael Ciapciak pulls out some hot chocolate chess pies. The pies rise in the middle during the cooking process, but they settle back down after they cool.
Chocolate Chess with Rye Whiskey Caramel ($5)
This very dark and chocolatey cake comes with a generous pour of an Old Overholt Rye Whiskey caramel.
Biscuit with House Made Jam and Butter ($2.5)
Along with the flaky pies, Bang Bang also serves some flaky biscuits. Each is served with house made jam and butter.
