Free food alert! Visit any Garrett Popcorn Shop in Chicago between 11 a.m and 2 p.m. today and pick up a "treat size" of CaramelCrisp®. What's the occasion for all this good will? Well, the shop wants to celebrate Chicago's 175th birthday (which was actually two days ago) and National Caramel Popcorn Day (which is actually today). That latter national holiday shouldn't be confused with National Popcorn Day on January 19th. Of course, the lines are always long at Garrett's, so this won't exactly help. But if you have the time, go for it.
