You'll probably recognize OpenTable as the handy site that allows you to make reservations online. So, why did a list of the "Best 100 Restaurants for Brunch in the United States" from the company just arrive in my inbox? According to the email, the picks are based on nearly "5 million reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 12,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia." Which, you know, is not a bad sample. Anyway, only three Chicago restaurants made the cut, and the picks aren't as obvious as you might imagine.

It's hard to argue with the inclusion of Big Jones in Andersonville, though I am quite partial to the restaurant's fried chicken. As for the other two picks, well, I've honestly never tried them. At least I've heard of Broadway Cellars in Edgewater. But has anyone been to the Parrot Cage, which is apparently maintained by the Washburne Culinary Institute? I'm intrigued.
