Grub Street Teases Us With Eataly News

Since I first learned about the prospect that Eataly may be coming to Chicago, I have just kind of assumed that all I needed to do was mention that Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich were involved with the massive concept and that would be enough. But Mike Gebert, the editor of Grub Street Chicago, actually did some reconnaissance work, taking some pictures of the market on a recent trip to New York. He just published a slideshow of the adventure, showing in detail what may be coming here soon. He also thinks he knows the location.

Though nothing has been confirmed, Grub Street also has something of a hunch that it will be located in the old ESPN Zone on Ohio between Rush and Wabash. This seems to be an ideal location for the market, since it is both close to Michigan Avenue (lots of foot traffic) and to the Grand Ave. Red Line (easy access for the rest of us).

Anyway, if you've been dying to see why I'm so excited about Eataly, definitely take a look at the slideshow.
