La Quercia's Ham Independence Week
June 28 to July 4
La Quercia's Herb Eckhouse is touring the country to celebrate "Life, Liberty, and the Prosciutto of Happiness" and making several stops in Chicago. Sample the offerings for free at Publican Quality Meats, enjoy Templeton Rye cocktails and bar bites at Bar Toma, or indulge in a multi-course meal at Panozzo's. Chicago Craft Beer Festival at St. Michael in Old Town
Friday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
This new festival features craft beers from around the U.S. and offers two ways to enjoy: a street festival with music and booths, or ticketed beer tastings with seventy-five offerings. Tickets to the street festival portion are $5, and tasting tickets range from $35 to $50. 1633 N. Cleveland Ave.; event website

Saturday (June 30)

Holstein 100 at Holstein Park
Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Bucktown's favorite park, best known for its crowded pool, is turning 100 years old. A fundraiser to rehab the fieldhouse is being given in its honor, complete with fourteen food trucks and Goose Island beer. $5 2200 N. Oakley Ave.; event website

Beyond the Weekend

Publican Quality Meats Sunday BBQs
Beginning July 8, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A new addition to the PQM meat domination: weekly Sunday BBQs are launching soon. The restaurant's chefs will team up with a guest chef (the first is John Anderes of Telegraph) to prepare two different meat offerings, along with sides. 825 W. Fulton Market Street
