Pecking Order, Kristine Subido's Filipino-style chicken restaurant is opening in Ravenswood this Saturday. You can order the chicken grilled, roasted, or fried, though each starts in off with the same marinade, which is based on a special family recipe. 4416 North Clark Street; event website
Chicago Pizza Fest
Saturday and Sunday, noon to 10 p.m.
After a three-year hiatus, Chicago Pizza Fest is returning. Along with slices and whole pies of thin, thick, and gourmet pizza, the festival offers hourly live music. $5. Wilson & Broadway; event website
Taste of Mexico
Saturday and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.
Visitmexico.com and American Airlines are sponsoring this event to showcase the food and drink of Mexico, particularly tequila. Check out the event's website for the music and chef presentation schedule and for a chance to win two round-trip tickets to Puerto Vallarta.
