Meet The Market @ Ada Street
6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Join the Green City Market Junior Board tonight at Ada Street for the latest Meet the Market event. Enjoy free bites created by chef Zoe Schor using produce from Kinnikinnick Farm. Cocktails, which mix the farm's produce with New Holland Spirits, will also be available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds from the cocktails will go to the Green City Market's LINK Matching Fund, which helps extend the food dollars of people on assistance when shopping at the market. Tomato Battle
Noon to 6 p.m.
Okay, so this might not technically qualify as a food event, but there is definitely food involved. As its name suggests, Tomato Battle promises to provide of 300,000 tomatoes for you to throw at thousands of other people. Toni Patisserie and Cafe's 1 Year Anniversary
All September
To celebrate its first year in the Loop, slices of cake at Toni Patisserie are $3.65 all September long. Flavors include white chocolate mousse, chocolate raspberry mousse, carrot cake, flourless chocolate cake, and white buttermilk cake. 65 E Washington; event website

Small Bar Division 8 Year Anniversary Pig Roast
Events start at 3 p.m., food is served 5 p.m.
To celebrate eight years, Small Bar Division is hosting an Anniversary Picnic, featuring a pig roast, live music, and, of course, loads of beer. The $15 fee includes one draft beer and chef Justin White's all-you-can-eat "smoked hot picnic spread." 2049 W. Division St.; event website
