Meet The Market at The Signature Room
6 to 8 p.m.
Join the Green City Market Junior Board at the Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Center for the last Meet the Market event of the year. This time, the folks from Leaning Shed Farm will be on hand, as will their produce, which will be used in various appetizers and cocktails. It's free to attend, and money from the drink sales will benefit the Green City Market. The Signature Room; event website

Cupcakes & Cocktails
6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Blue Sky Bakery's annual Cupcakes & Cocktails fundraiser features, you guessed it, freshly made cocktails with both sweet and savory cupcakes. Drinks and other hors d'oeuvres will also be available. Chicago Gourmet
Sunday , 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Sponsored by Bon Appétit, Chicago Gourmet plans to take over Millennium Park this weekend with tastings from over 100 area restaurants, chef demos, and loads and loads of wine. Saturday tickets have already sold out, but there are still a few weekend passes ($288.85) and Sunday tickets ($173.31) left. Millennium Park; event website

Big Palate Challenge
6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
As was mentioned last week, Nick will be competing against six other food writers to see how many ingredients he can correctly identify while blindfolded.
