Snap Peas, Majestic Nursery & Farm
Peas popped up at a number of stalls, but I was drawn to these bright green ones from Majestic Nursery & Farm.
Shelled Peas, Piedt Farms
I also picked up some freshly shucked green peas from Piedt Farms.
Garlic Scapes, Montalbano Farms
I spotted curly garlic scapes at a number of places, but few looked as stunning as these at Montalbano Farms.
Strawberries, Lyon's Fruit Farm
Where there was once nothing but asparagus, Lyon's loaded its tables with heaps of ruby red strawberries.
The Amazing Kale Burger
I didn't get a chance to try a "vegan, gluten-free, soy-free burger," but I am very, very intrigued
Radishes, Gentleman Farmer
The very dapper Dominic Green, the man behind the Gentleman Farmer, was selling some stunningly colorful radishes.
Snow Cone, Jo Snow Syrups
Sure, you can buy some of Jo Snow's fantastic syrups, but I have a hard time ever turning down a soda or a snow cone. You know, to keep me cool while shopping.
Uncle Sam at Scrumptious Pantry
He wants YOU to buy some locally made sauces.
Charcuterie, Underground Meats
This Madison, Wisconsin company sells an impressive array of cured meats.
Cheesy Ciabatta, La Boulangerie
Though this bakery is located at the corner of Logan Boulevard and Milwaukee Avenue, it sets up a stand at the market. Here you can pick loaves of bread and freshly made crepes.
Publican Quality Meats
I was surprised to see Publican Quality Meats at the market, especially considering how packed the West Loop shop is all of the time. Not that I'm complaining...
Bacon from Publican Quality Meats
Especially since I can now pick up some of my favorite bacon within walking distance of my place.
Part of the fun of the market is getting to sample a range of different foods from local companies. I particularly loved the mocha stout almonds from Mama's Nuts!.
Mushrooms, River Valley Ranch
As always, River Valley Ranch sold an assortment of mushrooms.
