Thursday (July 25)

Meet The Market at Allium
Thursday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The folks behind Growing Power will be the guests of honor at The Green City Market Junior Board's latest Meet the Market at Allium. Chef Kevin Hickey will be serving free appetizers made from the farm's produce. If you purchase a speciality cocktail, a portion of the proceeds will go to Green City Market's composting program. Friday (July 26)

Pierogi Fest
Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Although this festival is actually in Indiana, the drive is short and worth it for pierogi lovers. The popular pierogi toss and pierogi eating contest happen Sunday afternoon, but the entire weekend brings the chance to enjoy pierogis filled with cheese, potato, sauerkraut, kielbasa, apricot, mushroom, and halusky. Saturday (July 27)

Blu benefit for Shedd Aquarium
Saturday, 7 p.m. to midnight
This fundraising event includes tastings from more than 30 acclaimed restaurants, such as avec, Publican Quality Meats, Sunda, Big Jones, and Mercadito. Take break from dancing to enjoy the dessert lounge, which will include sweet treats from Glazed and Infused, more cupcakes, Vosges Haut-Chocolat, Vanille Pastirie, and many more. $175, $250 V.I.P.1200 S. Fabio Viviani Book Signing
Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Top Chef "Fan Favorite" and Siena Tavern owner will be at Costco for a book signing of his new release, Fabio's Italian Kitchen. All the recipes in the cookbook are inspired by the traditional Italian cooking of his grandmother and mother. Free. 2746 N. Clybourn.; event website

Taste of Lincoln Avenue
Saturday and Sunday, noon to 10 p.m.
Celebrating its thirtieth birthday, this neighborhood street festival features 250 food vendors and 40 bands. Headquarters Beercade is also offering free arcade games in the craft beer area. Free. N. Lincoln Avenue between Fullerton and Wrightwood; event website

Wicker Park Fest
Saturday and Sunday, noon to 10 p.m.
Another food, music, and family-friendly festival, Wicker Park Fest highlights some of Chicago's trendiest dining options including The Bedford, The Savoy, and Smoke Daddy. $5 suggested donation. Milwaukee Avenue between North and Paulina; event website

Sunday (July 28)

Beer, Beats, and Brews at Three Aces
Sunday, beginning at 3 p.m.
Rob Levitt, Mark Steuer, John Marrion, Chris Curren, Michael Dean Reynolds, and Matt Troost are the featured chefs for this animal roast to benefit Rock for Kids. Expect dishes beyond just roasted pig. $35 all-you-can-eat. 1321 W. Taylor Street; Call for reservations: 312-243-1577
