The James Beard Foundation's Taste America event happened in Chicago this past weekend with various events and activities around town, including a cooking demo with former Top Chef winner, Richard Blais, at Sur La Table in the Gold Coast.

Smoking Gun

Chef Blais was here to promote his new book, Try This at Home, and he showed the attendees how to make a "surf and turf" taco as well as a nitrogen-frozen margarita. While most people might not have some of the equipment he used in their home kitchens, it was still fun to watch him play with high-end kitchen tools.
