Last week one of Chicago's most successful restauranteurs, Scott Harris, threw his hat in the ring with Glazed and Infused. We decided to stop by the Wicker Park outlet yesterday to sample all 13 varieties currently available (it was the least we could do).
It's easy to feel overwhelmed at Beard Papa's. Chocolate or strawberry filling? Is the flavor of the day anything special? Original shell or éclair? Isn't it important to try the basics first? But then again, isn't everything improved by a layer of chocolate? Fret not. We did the arduous and demanding work required to break things down for you filling by filling and puff by puff.
Publican Quality Meats has top quality meats and freshly made bread. It didn't take long for us to realize that if you combine the two you have the potential for some truly stunning sandwiches. Or, at the very least, that was the hypothesis. There was only one way to find out: we had to eat all of the sandwiches on the menu.
