With more than 200 restaurants participating in Chicago Restaurant Week 2013, the choices can be overwhelming. Though still a few weeks out, you better make your reservations now if you want to grab some of the most coveted tables. Here are seven lunch deals you'd be sorry to miss.
'piccolo sogno' on Serious Eats
Pumpkin is popping up on menus all over Chicago. What's most interesting is seeing it used in so many different ways. From pasta to tamales, cocktails to cupcakes, pumpkin's sweet roasted flavor is everywhere. Oh, and you better believe there is pumpkin pie.
Though spring is only two days old, this record-setting run of absolutely gorgeous weather feels more like the middle of summer here in Chicago—not that we're complaining. So even though we are still weeks away from the traditional date when restaurants lug out their outdoor furniture, we're already jockeying for prime outdoor tables around town.
The cracker-thin, perfectly cooked, taste-as-good-as-they-look crusts were incredibly crisp without being remotely crumbly. Both pizzas had some tip sag, but that was a small price to pay for the crunchy, lightly toasted goodness that made the bulk of both pies a texturally delicious treat.
