Chicago: 5 Bourbon Cocktails We Love

The summer heat is slowly giving way to crisp fall days in Chicago. Gone (hopefully) are the pummeling heat waves and the unbearable humidity. City drinkers will again start seeking their warmth from the bottom of a glass, which means bourbon season is upon us. Luckily, the Windy City has no shortage of bars serving up unique cocktails that feature the iconic southern libation. Here are five of our favorites.

More of a bourbon-on-the-rocks kind of person? These bars are also great for sampling styles from both big name brands and smaller craft distilleries. The Southern and Maria's both offer around 40 different bottlings, and Longman & Eagle is a good place for sampling custom flights of small batch bourbons selected by the bar's mixologists. If you like your bourbon with a little Johnny Cash on the side, well, the best place to start is Big Star.
