First Look: Jam's New Logan Square Location

After closing its very popular Ukrainian Village location over a month ago, Jam quietly showed off its flashy new Logan Square digs this past weekend. Though not officially open, I decided to stop by for a couple of visits to see how the menu had changed since the move. (Currently, it is not online.) Also, I selfishly wanted to get in before the crowds found out and descended.

Don't worry about the menu; the favorites are still here, including the truly excellent French toast and the egg-topped Jamburger. As for new items, you'll now be able to find pappardelle and a salad Niçoise on the menu. For the most part, though, this is a restaurant that knows its strengths and is sticking to them.

The biggest changes come after brunch. That's when it rolls out a daily Blue Plate Special starting at 5 p.m. (The Lake Superior whitefish with caper-tarragon remoulade sounds particularly tempting.) The full breakfast and lunch menu will also be available until 9 p.m.—just in case you'd rather feast on pumpkin pancakes with a maple meringue and peptio brittle.

If you've been missing Jam for the past month, reacquaint yourself by checking out the slideshow above.
