Lincoln Park's Kingsbury Street Café may have only just opened in September, but they deliver such an effortless brunch that it is hard to not think they have been in business for years. Since most of my Brunch Dish posts have focused on savory entrees (check out this bacon flight for proof), I knew from spying the dark-chocolate stuffed French toast ($12) on their menu that Kingsbury Street Café would be the perfect place for me to take on the sweeter side of brunch.

Complimented by fresh raspberries, whipped cream, and orange zest, the French toast is every bit as decadent as it sounds. Even though it came with a serving of syrup, I barely needed it because of the chocolate syrup, which was liberally drizzled over every piece, made the dish sweet enough already. The orange zest and the raspberries helped cut the heaviness with some much-needed acidity. The modern presentation and size was more than adequate, so I walked away satisfied, if not overwhelmingly full.
