Our resident pizza reviewer, Daniel Zemans, didn't have particularly positive things to say about Dante's Pizzeria (reviewed here), which just opened last year in Logan Square. Unfortunately, I don't either. So, I'll bypass the pizza talk and get straight to the meatball sub ($7.00). Instead of hefty and dense, the meatballs are surprisingly light and tender. That's contrasted nicely by the crisp bread, which manages to hold up to the fillings without falling apart. Only some lackluster marinara (heavy on the dried seasonings and tomato paste) gets in the way. Still, totally solid, and perhaps a better choice if you find yourself in the food purgatory of Armitage and N. Humboldt Boulevard.
