The challenge, though, is finding one with a strong brew, cozy space, and decent grub to fuel the hours of page turning. These three factors converge at Ipsento, an artisan coffee shop on the neighborhood's northwest corner that puts more than one inventive spin on the standard-issue latte. Tips and tricks for making the best sandwiches at home.
Ipsento's menu features around nine sandwiches, each named after a famous literary icon. A personal favorite is the F. Scott Fitzgerald. Slices of multi-grain bread slathered in mayonnaise bookend deli cuts of sweet ham and sharp muenster cheese. Ample amounts of spinach and tomato slices are thrown in to garnish. A honey mustard sauce is then drizzled on top, adding a very sweet but welcome element to an otherwise salty sandwich. Given that The Great Gatsby author was never one to shy away from excess, it's only fitting that a sandwich bearing Fitzgerald's name be as unfettered as the roaring Jay Gatsby parties he penned.
