A Sandwich a Day: The Muenster Mash at Chicago Bagel Authority
Reviews of Chicago sandwiches.

I would happily eat any sandwich on the menu at Chicago Bagel Authority. With almost 100 different variations offered, that may seem like a reckless claim, but there's just something about a steamed bagel sandwich that I will say yes to every time. I don't know if its the ubiquitous gooey cheese or the way the bagel becomes a fluffy, squishy, bao-like encasement for the filling, but it just seems like the sandwich equivalent of a warm hug.
If, hypothetically, I had to describe a particularly delicious one, I might start with The Muenster Mash ($6.75), a seemingly simple combination of muenster cheese, chicken salad, and green pepper on an everything bagel. But this chicken salad is unlike any I've had before. Truly a mash up of cheese, nearly pulverized chicken, and a dill-heavy combination of herbs and garlic, this zesty mop sits on a paper-thin slice of fresh green pepper that adds the necessary crunch missing from a steamed bagel.
