Editor's Note: In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year--so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around the Windy City. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know!

It only occurred to me as I was starting this post that the Jo Jo ($7.79) from Caffè Baci seemed awfully familiar. It turns out that it's the same sandwich that I had at Caffè Rōm, which I visited earlier for Lunch in the Loop. A little nosing around on the internet has confirmed my suspicions, as a Yelper confirmed that there's mutual ownership.

That doesn't make the sandwich any less delicious, however. Just like its counterpart from Caffè Rōm, this sandwich is comprised of prosciutto, artichoke hearts, fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil leaves, dried spices, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. The salty but delicate prosciutto, fresh and mild cheese, along with a bit of briny artichoke, bright tomato, and sweet balsamic vinegar, make for a pretty sturdy sandwich.

Dennis is somehow an award-winning food writer and pizzamaker from Chicago. He loves bizarre food experiments, his cats, and instilling regret in his social media followers. His achievements include being so good at writing that he definitely doesn't need his fiancée, Davida, to write his Serious Eats bio for him. Also, he needs to empty the dishwasher.
