Tips and tricks for making the best sandwiches at home.
I wouldn't call it a rule, but if a restaurant has a eponymous sandwich on the menu I usually order it. That's especially true if this happens to be my first visit and I need a place to start. I mean, what better way to truly get a sense of what is going on in the kitchen than by getting a dish the restaurant feels comfortable putting its name behind?
Sometimes this trick pays off, and other times I get the the Babylon Chicken Kabob Sandwich ($7.73) from Babylon. All the elements appear to be in order for a satisfying wrap: grilled chicken kabobs, crunchy vegetables, and a warm, if thin, pita. But I should have read that description more closely, because those hunks of chicken turn out to be "vegetable marinated," which meant that each bite had a faint aroma of V-8. Not a disaster by any means, but I'll remember to go with the regular chicken kabob sandwich on my next visit.
