Another year, another chance to discuss a brand new Chicago Michelin Guide. While there are a couple of surprises, nothing absolutely shocking was announced. Alinea still has three stars, while both graham elliot and L20 gained a second star.
We did remember why we try to avoid predicting winners. Remember when we decided to conjecture about why a couple restaurants were removed from the Bib Gourmand list? We thought that might mean that they were getting ready to make the jump to the starred list. Turns out those two (Lula Cafe and Perennial Virant) didn't make the cut. Oh well. That said, it is cool to see that Mexique did ascend from the Bib Gourmand list to get one star. Congrats.
Have any opinions on the list? Let us know in the comments. Also, we should note that Mike Gebert over on Grub Street has some definite opinions about all of this. Otherwise, check out the full list below.
