I would like to propose a new holiday tradition for you and two to three out of town guests. Instead of walking around in the cold looking at a zoo covered in lights or walking around in the cold watching Christmas-themed animatronics go around in circles in a certain department store's windows, I suggest a significantly warmer activity in the form of seven different kinds of steamy and delicious hot chocolate at Mindy's Hot Chocolate.
Usually with these "We Eat All the..." posts, I wouldn't exactly suggest you try, say, sampling all of the candy Ferrara Pan makes, but this one is different. First of all, out of the seven different flavors, there are surprisingly no duds. Each one is well-balanced and universally delicious. Plus, each of the flavors is distinct enough that trying them side by side as a sort of impromptu hot chocolate flight helps you appreciate the bitterness of one or the spiciness of another. Contrasting the Medium and the Dark flavors or figuring out which ones benefit most from the side of homemade marshmallow becomes a bonding experience. I suppose the camaraderie inspired by holding a warm cup of hot chocolate multiplied by seven is just uncontainable. Take a look at the slideshow for details on each flavor, and if you'd like to visit on a Saturday or Sunday without a long wait, I suggest getting there when they open at 10 a.m. like we did.
