My favorite part of ordering a sandwich at Foodease is seeing them make it. It heightens the anticipation for my mouth and stomach, like a much tastier and not too much more expensive version of Subway.
This time, I went for the tomato and mozzarella sandwich ($6.95) and it's my favorite of the sandwiches I've tried. The baguette bread is toasted, but the other ingredients are cold. First, pesto is slathered on the bottom slice, then a generous heap of arugula is piled on top. Three fat, juicy roasted tomato slices come next, followed by three equally thick slices of mozzarella. The sandwich is finished with a touch of chopped basil, a drizzle of olive oil, and freshly cracked black pepper.
Crunchy baguette is just what this caprese sandwich needs to complement the soft and creamy vegetarian goodness inside. My hungry tummy was thrilled with how overflowing the sandwich is, but beware, it does get pretty messy.
