Why did I spend so much time checking out the food vendors at Lollapalooza, instead of, you know, checking out one of the hundred or so bands? This Chicago festival actually pulls in a collection of interesting local food options.
Unlike last year, I didn't have anyone to help me with the project, so I had to scale back my goal. Instead of making an attempt to eat at as many of the booths as possible, I decided to only seek out the ones I was truly excited about. Sadly, I wasn't able to test out the pizza from Bar Toma, which was actually the one I wanted to try the most. The restaurant actually lugged a mobile brick oven to the festival, which allowed them to dish out impressive looking Neapolitan pies. But each time I stood in line, the wait for one was in the 45 minute range. Fortunately, there was plenty else to eat.
