This year marked the 6th annual celebration of Chicago Gourmet, which was originally created by the Illinois Restaurant Association to spotlight the great culinary scene here in the Windy City. Once again, it was presented by title sponsor Bon Appétit magazine.
Both editor-in-chief Adam Rapaport and restaurant and drinks editor Andrew Knowlton were on hand to participate in the event, along with more than 175 Chicago chefs. There were cooking demos, seminars, more wine than a person could drink in a lifetime, and oh yeah, maybe a little bit of food, too.
Rather than do what Nick did last year, I took a decidedly more conservative approach and just documented my experience from Saturday. Because let's face it, Nick is just out of control.
So go ahead, live vicariously, and check out what I saw in the slideshow.
