Last weekend, Meals on Wheels of Chicago hosted its 25th annual Celebrity Chef Ball, which is the organization's main event to help raise money for meal deliveries to homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities. It was held at the massive Zhou B Art Center in Bridgeport, filling up three floors: two of those were for the VIP Chef's Table event, a seated dinner featuring dishes from a number of great chefs, including local favorites, Paul Virant (Perennial Virant) and Pat Sheerin (Trenchermen), along with some out of town guests like Matthew Accarrino (SPQR) from San Francisco.
Another floor was dedicated to the Chef's Tasting Party, a more freewheeling event that featured over 70 celebrity chefs and 14 mixologists serving samples of their signature creations. There were also silent auctions, a photo booth, and live performances by Sugar High and DJ Lani Love. The whole night was an upbeat party with endless amounts of food, drinks, and music to dance away the (completely worth it) calories.
